Business Talk Toastmasters was established in 1995 to help people develop their presentation and leadership skills. It is is a Melbourne based chapter of Toastmasters International and is consistently recognised for excellence - Select Distinguished Club in 2005 & 2007, Distinguished Club in 2006 and the big daddy of awards President's Distinguished Club in 2008 and 2009.

We currently host an Australian champion Andrew Monaghan for Speech Evaluation. Business Talk always performs strongly in district competitions. Most recently Appu Ruby placed third in the last District 73 Humorous competition.
It hosts two Area Governors Verena Engbarth and Shanta Hallock for 2010-2011. It has five members who are of or approaching Advanced Toastmaster standing (ALB,ACB,ACS )
Business Talk Toastmasters meets fortnightly at lunch time and provides an opportunity for members to practice key skills of a competent toastmaster.
Key skills include: conducting meetings, presenting prepared speeches, impromptu speaking and giving effective feedback. We also help our members focus on the finer points of public speaking including timing, grammar, listening and increasing their vocabulary.
Strong leadership is a core part of the culture, where new members are mentored by an experienced toastmaster for the first three speeches, and then continued afterwards in a less formal manner. The progress of each member is also monitored and given praise, encouragement and recognition as they develop new skills and reach key milestones.
